Mohindru 5/70

Windsor managed to grab their first win of the season as they stood up under great pressure to overcome rivals M&B on the weekend. The preparation was far from great as Nichols had to pull out the day before due to a family emergancy, and Vandermerwe was unavailable with businesss.

A vastly inexperience bowling line up consisting of debutants Borland and Thompson had first use of the wicket as M&B won the toss and batted. They found the step up tough as the home side put on 70 for the first wicket before the ageless Mohindru (5/70) and Harris (1/60) bowled unchanged and did a magnificent job in restricting the opposition to 200 off 52 overs.

With stand in skipper Weston, thinking it was a 280 deck, Windsor where elated and set about knocking off the runs with ease as Vandeberg (77) and Birch (85) put on 171 for the 1st wicket and effectivley winning the game. It was dissapointing to see Windsor gift the opposition 2 extra bowling points as they lost 5 wickets for 30 runs to get the total, but all in all, the side where pleased with the chase and confidence is restored after an opening round defeat!

Windsor host the tough Amersham at Home Park next weekend, and hope that further collapses will be avoided as they start to find their feet in Division 1
