Windsor 1st XI vs. Thatcham Town 1st XI
Windsor travelled to Thatcham looking to gain max points to help them move out of the relegation zone.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Windsor didn’t get off the best of starts loosing 4 quick wickets. Michael Gould and Stuart Millman started a fight back with some lovely shots being played by both players and things looked better for Windsor. Unfortunately Gould fell, bringing Watkins to the crease, who started in his normal cavalier style. Millman was then next to fall bringing Thompson to the crease, Thompson and Watkins kept the tempo up with Watkins smashing anything loose, with Thompson accumulating, Watkins then fell for a good 30 Thompson then fell to a run out with sparked the collapse Windsor eventually all out for 115.
Windsor knew this would never be enough, but there was a bit in the wicket and if Windsor got early wickets it would be game on.
Unfortunately Thatcham had other ideas with there overseas star coming at the bowling from ball one, he reached 50 in no time, but Windsor had dropped him three times, the situation looked poor for Windsor who were starting at a 10 wicket defeat, with 10 runs to win Mohindru bowled Etteridge, then granger had Ederwiera caught behind, another wicket fell 2 balls later, after another tight over from Mohindru, granger took another wicket. Windsor’s fight back was short lived, after a rain break Thatcham wasted no time in finishing the game.
Windsor will need to get maximum points from their remaining games to ensure they can stay up.
