Windsor Vs Chesham

Windsor 109-9 (52 Overs)
Chesham 110-4 (34 Overs)

Windsor entered this match knowing they needed to get as many points as possible due a poor display last week.

Unfortunately the toss was critical, water had got onto the wicket due to the storms on Friday, and this with the overcast conditions would not make batting easy. Luck went Cheshams way and Windsor were asked to bat.

Thompson opened with Mahmud Mirza, who got there heads down taking the score to 30 without loss, these were extremely hard earned runs as the bowling was accurate and ball was swinging and seaming almost every delivery. Unfortunately Mirza eventually succumbed, playing a rash shot and was caught behind. Clarke soon followed LBW, which brought Gould to the crease, a very tight run caused the demise of Gould, Towse and Thompson set about rebuilding the innings, and were steadily moving the score along until Thompson was trapped LBW for 35, a mini collapse ensued including the run out of Towse, Raul Mohindru batted well again helping Windsor to a under par score of 109-9.

Windsor new that early wickets would make the game interesting, Granger and Griffiths both struck early, and it was game on, Kenyan super star Modi came to the crease and looked suspect against the quick’s, after edging his way to 19 Raul Mohindru had him caught behind, then a sharp bit of cricket from keeper Baumgartner had there number 4 run out. But luck didn’t go Windsor’s way. and with 4 dropped catches not helping, Chesham got to the target off 34 overs.

Skipper Thompson was again concerned at the team’s points tally, but more pleased than the previous week as Windsor showed more fight.
